Definately a wood burner! It leaves such a nice, clean edge. You won't have to worry about your ribbon fraying because it seals it permanently. HTH!

I used to use fraycheck but I have switched to the woodburner. I found that the ribbon I sealed with the fraycheck still got 'rough' after a few months-not totally fraying but not a clean edge anymore.

I too use a lighter, just have to be extra careful with the lighter colors.

I have a woodburner, but I still find myself turning back to my lighters most times.

Wood burner is the best. It takes a little while to get used to and not be afraid of ( a few burns won't hurt you). Just make sure you clean your tip after each use or you will have black marks on your ribbon.

I use a dry cloth to rub the tip on after every cut.

I too use a lighter but if I am sitting down and making hundreds of clips a day then my finger gets too sore! When I do tons I use a candle. I just dont put it in the flame, just putting it beside is hot enough and it works just like a lighter. I dont get the discoloration. BUT, with that said and reading what everyone else uses, I think I may just go try the wood burner. Sounds like it is easier.

I burn myself enough with my glue gun so I fear getting a wood burning tool b/c I got 2nd degree burns with one when I was younger.

When you use the lighter, don't put the flame to the ribbon just run the ribbon near the flame and it will seal it. Also, move the ribbon fast.
