Default What clips to use for thick hair

I put most of my bows on single prong alligator clips. I have a customer whose daughter has super thick hair and the alligator clips are not holding. The little girl is a little over a year old. What clips might work better. French clips are too big. This is mostly for pulling hair back on the sides. Thanks for any help!

I have found that snap clips work really well. The have some as big as almost 2 inches I believe. HTH

Are you lining the clips? That helps a lot and I have found that double prong alligator clips tend to grip better as well. HTH

Is it that the clips can't close enough because of her thick hair, or is it that they aren't gripping in the hair?

I line the top part of my clip only. Her mom says she puts the clip into her hair and it immediately falls out. I believe she is trying to pull too much hair into the small clip. I myself have thick hair but have had no trouble pulling my sides back with the clips. I have lined some with shelf liner and I am sending them to her to see if that helps.

my dd has really thick hair as well and I have gotten in a habit of pulling her hair back and putting it into a pony using the snag free rubber bands available at Sally's then putting the pretty in over the rubber band. I don't use just lined clips for her hair, thought I always use a bow so the rubber band never shows. Doing it this way I know the hair will stay back all day at Kdg.

Have you tried a smaller size French clip?
