You are right, it is just the figure 8, but with the wrong side up for the flower petals. You can actually use either side of it, and you can use just the flowers for the clips. Here's some samples of what I made.

What are y'all using for the center of the flower? I figured you could put a button (or anything else), but didn't know how to do the cool coil in the pic.

You would just take the same 3/8 inch ribbon...twist it until it looks rope-like, then glue bit by bit until you get the desired circle width...make sense? Search--peppermint--I think Judy posted a how to.

sorry if I missed posts, but I just tried the flower with 3/8" ribbon and now I am thinking I should have used 1/4" for all. The pictures must be 1/4"... Did anyone else make them? What size ribbon did you use?

For the ones I posted pictures of, I used 1/4 because I like the loo of lots of petals. But for the one you had the picture of, I am pretty sure they used 3/8.

ok, thanks. I just ordered some 1/4" to try it with. I like how you can see the alligator clip behind the stem with the 1/4". I'm going to finish the 3/8" one though and will post it soon! (I hope).

Default All 3/8 ribbon pic

Here is my first try for a flower using all 3/8". I need to wait for the 1/4" ribbon to come and I am going to try again. I don't know how to do a center (couldn't figure it out, so just rolled it).

It is still quite cute--a suggestion for the center...take your ribbon and begin twisting it length wise--so you are creating a rope-like effect, then make it into a circle--hope that helps!
