Default HELP!!! with Bottlecaps

Ok girls, I have tried bottlecaps & they just are not working for me. My daughter wanted some bottlecap necklaces but she wants the picture on the inside of the cap (not on top). I printed my picture on Photo paper, sprayed with acrylic sealer, bought Envirotex Lite. My picture ran & my resin has lots of little tiny bubbles all the way through. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Have you tried printing them at walgreens or somewhere like that? I think some home printers use so much ink that they run no matter what you do.

No, but I have another photo printer that I will try, but what about all the bubbles in the glaze how do you get rid of those?

try clear fingernail polish for sealing the images. as for the envirotex lite i was told you can just blow the bubbles and they will disappear. i havent tried the envirotex yet, however i did buy it... my problem has been getting the images to stick to the bottle caps and the images raising up after i seal and glaze

what if you buy the full sheet sticker paper from Office Depot? That might help with the images raising up. HTH

what is making the images run is your paper. if you use a lower grade (think kodak kiosk machines), then you will have to put a top coat of clear nail polish on them to make them not run.

as for the bubbles..make sure that you are stirring the et real well before you pour it on the caps. also...let them set a few minutes and then i swirl my wooden stick around in it again.

pm me if you have any more questions. i used to buy mine, but never found one that i liked A LOT...except from one girl...and hers were just a little too much for me to spend on them. i did lots of research before i started making mine (including trial and error). i made a batch of 100+ and then all of the images ran.... thats when i learned to use different paper or to coat them!

If you are using et then the bubbles will come to the top in a few minutes & then exhale over the top of them or run a lighter over the top of them. The CO2 is what gets rid of the bubbles.

When I printed my images for the bottlecaps off my computer. I then ran them through a sticker maker I bought at Walmart. After the images come out of the sticker maker, I punch out the picture with a circle punch and peel off the back of the "sticker" and put that on my bottlecap. I then spray the top of the bottlecap/sticker with a clear spray and the images don't run and I don't have any bubbles to get rid of. Perhaps this will also help you.

on the invirotex it says to paint a thin layer of Elmer's glue over your picture so that is what I do, it also says to run a lighter over the top to pop your bubbles which I think is the funnest part of the whole process
