Default Will this ribbon cork?

I have some of the dashes dots and checks ribbon from Michaels that I want to make korkers from. However, I'm not too sure it will kork right and last because it has thread running through it. I am afraid of that making it uncurl too easily. I have never korked anything except plain grosgrain. Anyone have any experience korking this stuff, or anything out of the ordinary?

I am attaching a pic from Michael's website. The ribbon I am talking about is like the top and bottom spools in the pic. You can see the running stitch thread that borders it.

I have corked it before. It does work and I mixed it in with the plains. It is fun! Might even want to use a smaller dowel. That will help it for tightness. Good luck!

I agree with the other post to do it on a smaller dowl because it does not curl as well as plain and if it gets wet it will uncurl.

Does it uncurl easily? I am planning on selling the korkers, so I really want to be sure they will hold up. It is a bad feeling to sell something only to have the customer complain that it didn't hold up.

My son put a wet washcloth on my daughters and it was the only on the ribbons that did not stay curled. I made mine long because it was a pony -o so that may have been part of the problem.

I have korked it too and it didn't hold up well. It looked pretty in the beginning and then lost shape. It was paired with solids that held their shape . I think it is just a thicker ribbon and that is why it doesn't hold even with starching the life out of it....lol

Thanks for the input ladies! I am so glad I asked. I think I will use it for headbands instead. I will have to pick something else for the korkers. I would rather be safe than sorry!
