how-to/tutorial brithday party hats???

anyone have a link to any instructions. My baby boy will be one next week and I wanted to make him a little hat. I love the fru-fru ones. Just wondering how to attach the fabric. Do you sew it? glue it on? I'm alittle clueless. TIA

ok now im clueless....what is kiwi paper? and is that what those hats are made with!? Do you just cut and glue it on, then add embellishments.

Kiwi paper is what I use for my coffee tumblers, and water bottles. I embroider the names and such on them. You can use it for cards, hats, whatever. You can shape it into a cone, use staples or tape to keep it together, add elastic to the sides for it to stay on his head. You can use hot glue to add marabou around the bottom and make a puff ball for the top. If you don't have an embroidery machine you can maybe buy stick on letters to put his name on it. I used fun foam, a big sheet...cut out the template (used an actual bday hat and traced it), then cut it out, glue together and glued chenille on top w/ marabou around the bottom edge and a puff on the very top. I used the foam so it wouldn't be too rough on my niece's head.
