~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ hi,
i am making clippies, i think that is what they are called. I am lining double pronged alligator clips with 3/8 grosgrain. anyway, i just realized i made a clip backwards. I put the ribbon all the way across the flat side so the angle up end is now the bottom of the clip. Does that make sense? anyway, i wanted to know if anyone makes their clips like this. I think it may look better but my daughter isn't awake to try it out. what do you think? |
I line my single prongs upsidedown like that, but when I bought some doubles, they had a bar connecting the top prongs. So when I made the doubles 'upsidedown', the clippie would barely go into the hair because of the bar connector.
I line mine upside for flower clippies and larger stacked boutique bows. I think it's a preference. When I lining for simple clippie only or with a dior style on top I like the angled side on the top.
I do my clippies "upside down". I like the way it lies on the head better. I also prefer the flat side on top. It is opposite to how 95% of people do their's. I've sold quite a few though, and nobody has ever complained.
They are on my etsy site: Etsy :: HazelsZippyClippies :: Hazel's Zippy Clippies I don't have many pictures with models yet though. |
I flip mine upside down too unless it is just a simple lined clip. That way your bow lays flat on the top & doesn't look lopsided.
