How do you get rid of Hot Glue Gun Strings???

Can someone, Anyone please tell me if there is a way to get rid of hot glue gun strings? Mine seems to be horrible. Strings everywhere. It almost makes it difficult to work with strings everywhere. Also do you use a low temp or high temp glue gun? I'm wondering if a low temp would be better since I'm using a high temp. PLEASE HELP.

I switched to a different glue gun and it fixed most of my string problems. New one is a mini gun with the detail tip/nozzle; similar to this one

For me definitely high temp is the way to get less strings, but I've noticed as my gun is getting older it's starting to be more stringy.

What do you mean by use a blow dryer? I'm lost on that one.

JFYI, I bought that glue gun and hated it, it dripped horribly. So keep your receipt if you buy it!

That is what my big one did by this company. This is my third glue gun *not all the same type or brand*.
The first one dripped constantly. The second had an obnoxious trigger. When you pulled it slowly nothing happened, then all of a sudden a huge glob of hot glue came out. This one is my third and favorite, since only a little bit of glue comes out with the detail nozzle.

I may have just had a defective one, I loved the nozzle, but it also did as you described, you'd pull on the trigger harder and harder then all of sudden a huge glob would come out LOL!!! I went through too many glue sticks in the short time I tried it before tossing it in the trash can. I wish mine would have worked. I'm back to my $1.99 one that I've never had trouble with LOL
