French clips on organza bows???

THe lady that ordered a ton of bows from me wants her bows on french clips. How can I make the sheer bows look good? The ugly silver clip will be seen...

Should I line it? I really don't want to. That would be a BIG pain! But I will if that is the only way to make it look good.

here is the back of one. I cut the 3/8 ribbon just long enough to wrap both ends, then cut a piece just long enough to fit between posts in the middle underneath. I've been using Jewel Glue lately and it works great sticking to the metal, but hot works well too. I actually wrap the knot piece around the bar before I put down the last piece of ribbon underneath to cover any loose ends and secure the bow.

I did mine and think it looks great. I use the instructions on that one website (forgot what it is) that has a ton of instructions. Anyway, my camera battery is dead so no pics.

Does this end up gluing in your tenison bar?

I line all of my French barrettes but I don't line the underside like that. It's actually the first time I am seeing them lined all the way around like that but I guess I don't see many clips besides the ones I make.

Maybe with the organza you could line the clips with some matching satin ribbon. It would be a little fancier looking.

I played around w/ the clips tonight and made them both ways. I liked the underside lined. It gave it a more clean look and cleaned up the metal. It only took like an extra 30 seconds to do. Oh yeah, I like my stuff w/ satin if I use organza. (which I HATE)
