is this how its done?..or is there another technique for adding satin to tutus?

of course, I learned of those free instructions here AFTER I already purchased some. What I like about these is

1) it is a complete knot, not just a slip knot. The instructions I purchased said slip knots, so, following the directions, that is what I did, but over time they come loose

2) I like the satin waistband to finish the look off. I did a candy cane (red and white) and by using the square knot, the waistband looked fine without the satin, but my next one I will do the satin.

I tried the slip knot and is about to try one with this method as well. Was thinking this might be better as the knot might not come loose.
