Default Yet another heat sealing question

Do you fold your spikes and cut with heat sealing tool? I ever tried with a fine tip soldering iron and it was quite a circus act for me to measure, cut and seal. WhenI compare the process, it seems much easier to just snip and seal with a lighter! LOL.

Am I the only weird one?

I use the woodburning tool as I tried again last night with the lighter & it was aflame. When I am doing V's I fold them in half so they look like an angel & run the tool over both sides at the same time & it keeps the v sharp.

Hmmm... maybe I should give the above method a shot with my soldering iron.

I must be doing something wrong. Everytime I fold my ribbon in half and try to cut a v with my woodburner, it doesn't work. My two pieces end up melting together.

Maybe I just need to practice more?

That usually happens to me. I'm guessing my tool is too hot or I'm going to slow. I tried doing it faster, but it doesn't cut all the way through.
So I resorted to snipping and the lighter for the v cuts.

That happened to me as well. Currently I just stick to my lighter.

I fold my ribbon and cut and I keep my ribbon folded while I heat seal with my lighter. Just make sure the 2 sides aren't touching or you'll end up sealing them together

This is what I do too.
