a little flower trouble

I am making flower clippies to put on interchangable hats and headbands. My problem is when I use the larger peonies... they lose there shape when I take the plastic stuff out...if I don't take the stuff out it's hard to put them on the clippie.. so how does everyone get thiers' looking so perky?

Any tips are appreciated!

also.. how do you think these are made? Just like doing a streamer but shorter? or to you thing they are just stacked and then tied?

when you glue them back together be sure to use enough glue... alternate your flower petals so they are inbetween the layer below... when all else fails a little stiffener doesnt hurt

What kaneohegirl said. I usually have luck by alternating the petal layers.
