Hi there. I love the twisted boutique bow and finally mastered it and lots of others using nobownogo's templates. She just began selling them on her website Home of the Ultimate Hair Bow Making Instructions They may seem a little costly but I believe they are so worth it. In addition, there is a 126 pg tutorial that covers all kinds of tricks of the trade and names of ribbon suppliers. It is an awesome set. Before I purchased them, I did have some luck with this youtube tutorial - it might work better for you. YouTube - How To Make A Boutique Style Hair Bow by www.hair-hardware.com Best of luck to you!

Like others have mentioned, I think yours isn't turning out how you want because of the center crease. My only advice is when I crease my bows I start by using my finger to press down in the center, then push both sides into that fold so that you have a couple bumps in your crease.... I know that doesn't make much sense, but practice will make perfect.

It is entirely your center crease. It needs to be an accordian type fold. With 1 1/2 inches you need "3 Hills" as someone said. You only need 2 hill with 7/8. Move down to 7/8, master it, then move up to 1 1/2.

here's the link from earlier Perky Loops How To - Boutique Bow Free Instructions that wouldn't work...and I would definitely start with 7/8" or 1.5" ribbon instead of the bigger stuff.

OK.
I thought I'd jump in here.

Looks like you have the basic fold....you need to arch your loops more...this will help them to "stand"....also....you need a good accordion fold....the wider the ribbon, the more folding you need to do in the center.

I've always found it's easier to learn with 1.5"...but that's just me.

If it's creasing that your having a problem with then I would seriously check into getting the gator bite...I waited and waited to buy it b/c I didn't want to spend moreeee money but it's totally worth every penny in my opinion!
