Okay, I have this lady who is ordering a TON of bows from me! I can't believe it. I mean 33 bows!! Korkers, boutique, flowers, etc. I am so excited. The only problem is she wanted me to make her some boutique bows in sheer ribbon (organza I guess). I really have only used grosgrain and I don't know how to use organza! haha. She wants them for dressier things. She wants all of them in large sizes (4" wide) and I don't know how well that type of ribbon keeps its shape. Anybody know? What can I do? Should I try doing satin with organza on the top?? She wants these for the holidays (Christmas) so I need to order the ribbon ASAP!

Thanks!

Wow! What an order. You better get busy. Are these bows for one child? Talk about a bow head=)! I say that lovingly as I was a bowhead and so too is my little girl.

I find that a double layer of organza is what is really popular now. My daughter does Fair and Festival pageants, and that is what EVERY little girl has to wear with their smocked dresses. That is what my daughter wears with hers and my biggest customers request that too. Organza is just a little more frustrating to me that grosgrain -- but does anyone have any pointers on heat sealing organza???

I've found that using a lighter is the best method (not the easiest but the best!!). Fray Check doesn't dry properly and when I used a wood burning tool it melted to the glass I was using to cut on and left jagged edges when I pulled it off. It's tricky to get it nice with a lighter though. It took me alot of tries. If you hold the lighter to the end for too long, the ends will curl as it melts or it will leave a big melted end! Practice, practice, practice and be quick!

Congrats on all the sales! How exciting

Me, Me!

I bought 1.5" organza from RABOM last year. I don't make bows any more. If you want all 16 colors, I'd ask $40 with +$4 shipping. They are 25 yd rolls. Some of them are new. Some of them are 1 or 2 or 3 yds short (maybe more, can't remember). The current price on RABOM is $4.25/25 yd roll.

Here is all the colors I have.

The organza bows are sooo pretty so I don't understand why nobody sell it on eBay.

I'll upload my organza pictures later.

Please let me know.

Michelle.

Here are some pictures of organza bows.

I saw some bows with organza top and grosgrain base. Pretty too.

I love the bows Michelle! I would totally buy the ribbon from you except I don't use 1 1/2. I use 7/8. Maybe it would be better to use the 1 1/2??? What do you think?
