Default Fabri-tac is not drool proof!!

So I made some lined alligators for my almost 2 year old's unruly hair. Well, she decided that they make better teethers than clips (she's cutting in her canines and her 2 year molars all at the same time...whee!). Well, the ribbon came off the clip except for where it was hot glued. The fabri-tac stayed on the ribbon...just not the clip. Argh. So, other than getting some E-6000, what else would work? I've tried using just hot glue for the whole thing but we all know how smooth hot glue is.

Thanks!

I only use hot glue. Sorry. I'd be afraid to use e600! I've smelled that stuff and it has to be toxic LOL

i use hot glue to line the clippie except for the top, i want the top to look more smooth so i use fabri-tac. then after the top, right before it curves i use hot glue, then use hot glue all the way around the curves and then again at the end of the partial lined clip. HTH.....

Yes, I use to use fabri-tac on some of my butterflies until my daughter put one in her mouth and it came right apart! I stick with hot glue now!

duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude so what's wrong with fumes?

LOL j/k

Once E6000 is fully cured it's water- (and I suspect) drool-proof

It will not dissolve and I doubt that any of the chemicals would cause much harm unless your babe would chew on nothing but dried E6000 LOLOL which I doubt she does!

And if you work quickly the hotglue will smooth okay - and you will get used to the temps melting your fingertips (or is it "you'll get used to losing all feeling in the tips of your burned fingers" ? lol)

oh i forgot to mention about E6000... my mom uses it to make Victorian jewelry, one year we had a customer come back to tell us that she accidently washed her brooch that my mom made... needless to say none of the parts came off in the washer or dryer... just the center rhinestone was chipped. we replaced the rhinestone for her. but imho e6000 works very well but i havent used it yet cause i am pregnant as well..... id have to go sit outside by the pool if i were to use it cause it has toxins in it and the vapors numb your face if you are not in a well ventilated area...

WOW...I am a hot glue lover...despite losing feeling in my index finger and thumbs from the constant heat...lol. I was gonna give Fabri-Tac a try...but I guess now I won't.

Those that use the E-6000...did it take you a bit to get used to the time it took to dry? I am soooo impatient...lmao. And for the short time I did use it, that was my #1 gripe that it took too long to dry.

I use 3 in 1 advanced craft glue for my clippies. I love it. It holds great, dries fast, and is water proof. I have a 2 year old and a 1 year old and everything goes in their mouths and so far each one has held up great. I have even washed some of my bows and they come out great!
