Default Help on getting embellishments to stay on

I made my first hair bow that had a flat back cupcake on it in the center of the bow. My dd wore it to school for her bday today and when I picked her up the cupcake had already come off! I used a generous amount of glue from my hot glue gun. Is there a better way so it doesn't come off so easily? TIA!

oh my, hate it when that happens...

there are probably lots of different reasons...a couple come to mind...for me, I find the high temp holds better (don't know if you're already using that or not)

also, some embellishment backs are quite smooth which don't lend themselves to sticking very well. You can "rough" up the back with something like a hard emery board.

I know the other ladies have suggestions as well!

Default Thanks everyone for the tips

I'll try roughing up the surface and making a bigger center knot. I only started making them but if I ever wanted to give as gifts to friends I want to make sure that things wouldn't fall off for them!
