Question How to add spikes

Hi, I'm very new at this and wanted to add a few spikes to my first bow that I am going to make. Do any of you have any suggestions on where I can find some directions on making a bow with spikes?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hey!!
Spikes are SUPER easy. If your finished bow is say 3" you would want to cut 2 pieces of the ribbon of your choice at 4".
About 1" up from the end of each 4" ribbon fold it in half long ways and cut it in a downward slash (doing it upward will give you a 1 point, this method will give you the < shape)
While it's still folded go ahead and heat seal it!!
Do that on all 4 ends.
Make an X out of both pieces and sinch them together and tie them off and voila!! Place them under your finished bow and attatch them ( I use thread and needle)

Clear as mud?
LOL.

Those are great instructions. I can't believe how long it took me to think of sealing the ends while they are still folded!

Excellent instructions... I'm such a moron, it never occurred to me for the longest to fold them in helf to CUT it... actually, I had to read that. Ahem... And now I had to read to just keep them folded... Maybe now I won't be afraid of spikes... THANK YOU!

Thanks for this, I use a lighter to heat seal and found that my spikes ended up curved, holding them folded when sealing gives a much staighter finish.

Thanks again

Make sure there is a small gap between the top and bottom, otherwise they fuse together, as you have found out.
