I have the woven headband instructions and am following them closely. But, when I make the daimond shape design, the colors always "spill" over. I have attached pics so you can see. it's the diamond from the inside of the headband coming over to the diamond from the front side.

anyone have any tips on how i can fix this problem?

thanks,
jenn

on this first one, you can see it if you look to the right- on the side of the band

this one, it is at the very front, top of diamond

I had that same problem last night when I was working on mine. I found that if I pulled up on the ribbon it helped to make sure the ribbon over it was covering it... Makes a tighter weave. Does that make sense?

I have tried pulling it tighter, and also not pulling it so tight. I have also tried pulling it up, overlapping a little, etc... I have no clue what makes it work best!! I will try it again tonight though!

thanks

Take the last one as an example.

Each black ribbon has to butt against the previous black ribbon very well -if there is a gap it will cause what you call spillage. The ribbons have to touch each other. Pull tight and push up against the last ribbon thus making the black ribbons touch. Imagine only having the black ribbons - it is to look like a wrapped headband with no gaps - if you look at yours if you took away the other color there would be gaps - you just need to bunt up against the previous. Don't overlap.

Does that make sense?

also to highlight the point above - the green and pink headband - take a look to the right = counting from the right - count in - diamond number 3 and 4 - the two that are more together - you can see that one side touches as it should but the other nearer the bottom does not - that is a cause - because it is all not against the other ribbon. That will put everything out of wack as you carry on weaving.

This made me literally say "aaahhhhhh". I have had the same issue. Thanks!

P.S. I like your instructions, they are very easy to follow.
