Yeah, we're hoping to move north of Dallas next year. All of our friends are in the Lewisville/FM/Carrollton area.

I agree- TONS of practice. I have a box of rejected hairbows.

Also- I stick with the clippies. Myself and large bows just don't mix.

You need practice and practice.

I sew like professionals and no one can believe, that I made all my clothes.

When I started to make bows and flowers I needed to practice many time.

So donn't feel bad, you are not the only one, just keep practicing and you will be good.

I think I agree - I LOVE making the princess and bug, etc clippies and also the korkers and tiny infant 'gator' clips. It's the bigger ones I'm having a tough time with! I'm going to concentrate tonight on making a pinwheel bow and see how that works out for me!

I think it takes a lot of practice. I still can't get the bows right. I like to do the woven headbands. I bought the instructions and it still wouldn't click. Then last week I seen a video on youtube, and seeing it being done make it all so clear. Since then I have made a dozen and still doing more for the grand daugthers for school.
Also I didn't think your statement was offensive at all.

I think I am going to look for videos on YouTube for the bows...I am such a visual person that sometimes even the still pictures on the instructions don't make it click! Thanks for the advice!

Egypt is faraway

This is the problem with this situation: You jumped the gun and started the business side before learning the technique side. You committed yourself to a show before even knowing how to make a pinwheel?

The market is flooded with bowmakers, most of whom are just like you. They don't take their time to become good before they start selling. This is horrible for the market. It creates a bad image and it devalues the good product.

I think you will find that craft shows are a tough road to hoe when it comes to earning money. Expenses are higher than ever and you can show up and there be 4 other bow makers (if you are lucky). People don't spend money like they used to.

I make and sell 1,000's of bows. So, yes, I tend to find posts like this offensive. I'm sure you are a nice person, but you need to do research before taking action.
