~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I was wondering what is the biggest size dowel you have used to make korker ribbon? I'm wondering if it would be cute to use a big dowel, mabye like a 3/4 inch or something close. What are your thoughts??
I was experimenting with just this sort of thing the other day. I used 5/8" ribbon on a 5/8' dowel and on a 1/2" dowel. I like it pretty well on the 1/2" dowel on the larger dowel it seemed too floppy. It just did not seem to be as curly as I liked. Starching in some way might help but I don't usually starch my korkers.
Also, on the 1/2" I was able to use my clothes pins to hold the ribbon on. The 5/8" dowell was too big for the clothes pins so I had to cut short pieces of ribbon to tie around it to hold the ribbon on. I am not sure what I am going to do with the big korkers. Maybe ponytail streamers?? Not sure. |
I think that it's all on preferance. Some like tigher krokers and others don't. I use all different sizes.
