Default Watermark your images - prevent stolen images

There is a way we can protect ourselves.... A WATERMARK. They are fairly simple to make and can deter the image thief. It seems to be a growing problem that I have seen.

Build a watermark in your photos using Adobe Photoshop

On Picnik I usually put my words on there, resize them and place them where I want them, then I choose "Overlay" from the drop-down menu and then fade it out to 50-75% (depending on how I want it to look). I try to make it as unobtrusive as possible, but still there, and not across the center of the item, but along one of the edges. Personally, I don't like it when the watermark interferes with my ability to see the item well.

I've taken to not watermarking my pictures of my baby items because my label it usually visible in the pic, which indicates I made it.

Dh told me to make sure that my watermark went across the picture itself, not just on a little part of it. Also, you will see some that sell headbands or bracelets and their watermark is inside the bracelet or in the inside opening of the headband. Those can be taken out easily. I am sure that this is already posted on here somewhere and everyone already knows it, but I just wanted to pass it along just in case!
