Default How do you make embroidery letters?

Do you have to have an embroidery machine to make letters or fabric or ribbon? Can a regular sewing machine do this?

Do you mean to embroider letters on something? You can applique with a regular sewing machine, that's cutting out a letter out of fabric, using heat n bond to iron the fabric letter onto the material, then stitching around it with a satin stitch. If you want an actual stitched letter, it's best to use an embroidery machine. However, I did see a tutorial somewhere where someone drew a letter on fabric and then used the satin stitch on the sewing machine to outline the letter. That would take a lot of practice to get the stitching right and an embroidery machine would look better, IMO. Hope that answered your question Theresa

well you get a emboidery hoop, some floss, a embroidery needle... draw a letter pattern then stretch the ribbon tight then satin/decorative stitch it on..... hehehe ya could do it that way...its how my mom did it but a machine would be MUCh faster LOL
