when you do this are you using 8 strips of tulle in each knot, 4 for the smaller one? That's the only way I can figure out to give it layers. . .thanks!

can't wait for the pics! so you are really only doing one layer right? One strip of tulle for each knot? Just having some angled down and some up, so it gives it more shape? Thanks!

Okay, here are a few pictures. They REALLY don't do the tutus any justice. My husband modeled the one for an older girl and my daughter's lion modeled the little one (she hates tutus!!). If you cut the strips shorter than what I cut mine it will make them more poofy, too. The mom wanted these tutus a little longer.

I am so glad I can across this thread. I made my first Tutu dress for my daughter 4th birthday and I did pink and white. When I put it on her I was like OMG you can see everything what am I going to do now! I am going to try the layering. Thanks Ladies for all your good info!

I thought it would be cute short, too. The black/pink one is about 14 inches (28 inches because it is folded over). The pink/red/purples is about 18 inches (36 inches before folder). I am not sure of the exact measurements on those because I just measured them on the children.
