Umm.. I dunno about 5/8 or 7/8- never use them on my bugs. I line the clips with 3/8 green.

Also- a lighter works better then the fray check. Just swipe and it burns the edges.

so, 3/8 green would be best, i'll get some of that now

i use a lighter on my dummy clips but can just see myself using a lighter on the antenna doodahs and frazzling them lol

I ACTUALLY JUST MADE MY FIRST LADYBUG CLIPPIES MYSELF. MY GOOD FRIEND HAD A LADYBUG THEMED BABY SHOWER, SO I MADE HER A LB CLIPPIE =0) IT WAS SUPER EASY AND FAST TO MAKE. I USED 3/8 FOR EVERYTHING. THE FRAY CHECK WORKED REALLY WELL ON STIFFENING THE RIBBON FOR THE ANTENA. I THINK IT TURNED OUT PRETTY CUTE, BUT NO WHERE NEAR TO THE GIRLS THAT HAVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR A LONG TIME. I'M JUST STARTING OUT MYSELF AND LIKE EVERYONE SAYS ...KEEP PRACTICING =) BUT SERIOUSLY.. IT ONLY TOOK ME 10-15 MINUTES TO DO THE LADY BUG. I LINED THE CLIPPIE WITH GREEN 3/8 GROSGRAIN AND USED THE FABRI-TAC. I ATTATCHED THE LADYBUG WITH E6000/HOT GLUE. GOOD LUCK
