I am a newby, how do I make nylon headbands and crochet headbands

I am a WAY newby. how do I make nylon and crochet headbands and what are a good size width and length for all sizes of babies? I know you can just buy nylons and then cut them right? I want to know sizes from newborn on up and far as anyone knows. thanks also where is a good place to buy the crochet ones and are their "better" ones to buy than others.

I'm new here too..I make them all the time for newborns. They're comfy and just the right size. The trick is to buy KNEE HIGHS. They're the perfect length. All you have to do is cut off the stretch band at the top and connect it to the toe end. (: Bingo! Perfect size!

I use the nylons in the balls from walmart or walgreens. As for the crochet ones, you can get some of those at varying dollarstores (watch for the quality), there are also group buys that happen on a lot of the yahoo groups for bowmaking etc.
