Default What is the best way to attach bow

I made a nice medium size pinwheel bow for a lady. The ribbon legth was 1 1/2 inches and for the center knot I used the same legth just folded it in half when I made the knot but noticed that when attaching this to a aligator clip it is rather bulk and leaves space between the top of the clip and the bottom- any suggestions or should I just make a less bulky center for this bow. Thanks

i usually use 3/8 ribbon for center knots. Just use the same color or coordinating color if it is a print. I also use this ribbon to line the clip. Sometimes I will use 5/8 ribbon if i don't have what i need in 3/8.

I had a problem when I didn't have a smaller matching center knot ribbon so I used a wood burning tool and cut my 5/8 (or whatever size you have) into a smaller width. It worked like a dream!

I do this when I need to line a clip and don't have the 3/8. It is so easy and works great. I have the glass cutting mat with 1 inch measurements and grid lines and it makes it so easy.

I have a few issues with putting center knots on my clip too. My bow always ends up tipping one way or the other & then it's stuck pointing up or down... and the knot always seems to end up mashing my bow in the center (especially upsetting when I have surround bows)...

anyone have any advice??
