Default Where am I going wrong -_-

Hi lovely people 😘 I'm just looking for some advice! I've been making bows for a while now but no matter what I do I cannot get the hang of the large boutique bows (Jojo style) I've watched sooooo many tutorial videos and copy them exactly but still they're not turning out the same, on the proper one the edges are open giving it a floppy look, on mine they are closed which although they look ok it's not the look that I'm after!! I'll try to upload a pic of what I want to do and one of mine so hopefully someone can see what I'm doing wrong
Mine is the purple rhinestone bow the other is what I'm aiming for

The twisted Boutique bow can be a hard bow to master. Which way are you trying to fold it?

If you are doing the loop method and then you separate the loops you need to keep the back ribbons parallel (using an alligator clip to keep it in place while you practice). Then the front ribbons you need to get the X as high as possible. Imagine a capital x on its side and one up the right way. The one up the right way is what you are aiming for.

If you have still having trouble try the figure 8 method until you get the hang of it. This style does not have a tail in the front.

Good Luck.

Hi....are you stiffening your ribbon? that might help if you have not. The stiffer the better I think. Hope it helps.

Have you tried making the boutique bow in 2.25 grosgrain? I have found that the stiffness of the material makes a big difference in how well it stands.
