Default twisted boutique bow keeps breaking

So this may have been asked before. When I make my boutique bows I use a saloon clip way and I sew the middle to get the peaks and valleys. I'm using 2 ribbon. When I pull at the the thread to get the peaks and valleys it breaks. It was working great until this morning. I was only using 1 ribbon. I think it might be the thread and I'm using the cheap stiff thread. Any suggestions?
Thanks

I use a good quality thick thread...but dental floss is often recommended! Good luck!

I use a needle and thread to get the valley and hills but I use crochet thread to tie it. Check out my tutorial here http://thinkbowtique.com/blog/how-to...sgrain-ribbon/

I think the method I was using was not working because it was too tight. I changed needles too and try your method and it worked.

I normally use hand embroidery thread but ran out & decided to use dental floss & now that is all I will use now. That is some tough stuff!!! Another thing I like about the dental floss is that I will not have to worry about it getting all tangled/knotted up when storing it. I love that it is in the little container!!
