Default Help. Please how to Make this Tutu? clip

First I want to say im sorry if I am posting this wrong somehow.. I have never started a thread. I usually try to find how to make things by searching a lot. however this is got me baffled. I have tried and tried and tried. it just doesn't turn out right. and the only person I know who does make it is on my FB page and she will not help me. if anyone could help me that would be wonderful. as soon as I saw this other gals I had soooo many ideas, holiday styles color combos run through my head but im unable to make it. this is the only other one that I have found. I hope its ok to post the link.... cus I have no other way to let you see what im talking about.

I don't know how you've been making them but it looks like she has just sewn the tulle with a slight gather and formed it into a circle. Then she used two pieces of ribbon in the form of an x and glued on top with a bottle cap to finish. I've not worked with tulle much so I'm not sure I am of much help. Hopefully, someone else will chime in an answer.

ya, I have tried that and for some reason they are not turning out right, I have taken the strips of tulle and cut them down to 1 inch x 5 inch strips, and then tried 1.5 inch x 5 inch strips. I gather about 12 together in the middle and do the same with another 12. put those together and it looks very similar. but not just right.... lol I have tried soooo many ways that my house looks like a tulle factory exploded! haha. well hopefully someone else will be able to help out too. Thanks

try using longer strips. Place the teal layer ontop of the black layer. Cut the tulle into 2x12 strips. The best thing to do is try it if its too much then cut it down to 2x11 strips and so on. I preffer to use a strip 2" wide because you can trim it down if needed

so you are saying to use a 2 inch by 12 inch.... and I am assuming you mean to then do up a whole bunch and sew then in half.. kinda like a bow..?
I found these instructions and im trying to go based off this except do it full

http://www.poshnpretty.com/index.php...page=page&id=6

I think 12 inches is going to be way too big.. however when I follow the instructions I find that it looks a bit better but... these instructions say to use 6 strips, (way to thin for me, doesn't look like the other picture) so I used 12, then did another set of 12... but for whatever reason the colors blend too much and don't stick out like the ones in the picture. when I try more than 1 strip of color together.. say 3 of each color it looks better but still to thin.. maybe im using the wrong kind of Tulle? or maybe im just being really picky...? I just thought there might be someone who could explain the whole process from beginning to end on how to make the Tulle base... the spikes on top and all I can figure out but the Tulle is just not turning out right for me..
