Default Using Felties?

How do you add your felties to whatever it is that you are making? Will glue seep through? Do you reinforce with extra backing if you sew?

I guess it would depend on how the felties are made and what kind of felt is used, but I always glue mine and never have any problems with it.

If your felties are good quality glue won't seep through I just glue them to my lined clip or as a bow centre.

When adding to an outfit and sewing I just top stitch it on..no need to zig zag as it won't fray.

I have been thinking of trying this on some items. Do they wash fine? Can they be put on onesies, etc? If so, so you use them double layered like a feltie, or without the backing?

I mostly use wool-blend felts, and adhere them to bows & headbands with high temp hot glue. I have never seen any glue seep through, and they seem to be stuck very well.

All of the felts that I use have a finished back, so they are actually 2 layers of felt and then a layer of interfacing in between--pretty substantial!

Double layer with the backing Not sure about onsies, but I add them to my pillowcase dresses just fine. They wash well and no fraying

Oh thank you all so much! I want to play around with incorporating some into my jewelry, but I wasn't sure what exactly I could do with them!

I have seen people glue a bail to the back and use them as a charm/pendant on chunky beaded necklaces and ribbon necklaces.

Thanks. I was worried they wouldn't wash. Do you still need the tear away again for the fabric you are sewing them to?
