Default Need help please! How can I make this??

A friend of mine asked if I would make the hair piece for her wedding. This pic is what she is looking for (doesn't have to be exact.) I have no idea how to go about it. To me it looks like an applique and some loopy trim wound around it and then the crystals and pearls. Any suggestions or advice? (these are her personal pics...not from a website or shop.)

Labor intensive, but pretty! Look at the pix of the back of the hairpiece. Each bit of applique and the loopy trim has a whi wire glued to it. Then the pearls are twisted onto a silver wire [probably the "diamonds" too, but I'd wait on the diamonds til the very end]. When you have a kabillion little pieces ready, start laying them out the way you want them to look. Start bunching a few at a time and wrap with white shiny floss type thread. Keep adding to it to get the width/length you want. After that part is all done, then I'd randomly glue on swarovski [diamonds]. Finally glue it to a hair comb or some other type of hair fastener she wants....and it's done.

I would suggest the wire part be longer than necessary....it's easier to cut them, than to have them to short to bunch up....

There are a lot of cool lace appliqués available on etsy if you do a search for them

You could also go to a designer fabric store and purchase a small amount of "wedding lace". 19 years ago , I made my own wedding dress, and appliquéd cut outs from the wedding lace onto the skirt. Really good lace is going to be around $100-200 per yard, but you should be able to buy it in 1/8 or 1/4 yard length, and it should be 45 inches wide, so it should give you plenty of lace. Have fun and happy designing!
