Default starch

In many of the threads "starch" is mentioned as a stiffener. What kind of starch is being used? Since i am very new to this type of crafting (i usually sew clothes for small dogs) i am still trying to learn what things.are lol.

Starch like u would use on your clothes. I use faultless heavy starch. Comes in an arasol can and u can find it by the laundry detergent

I find hair spray does better than starch for me. I use super hold and the ribbon is stiff when it dries and it dries quicker than starch,

If the ribbons get wet, say in the rain, does the hairspray or starch, run or get flaky or ruin the ribbon?

I have never noticed anything on my daughters bows when they have gotten wet. I have never tried hairspray, only starch.

I prefer hair spray! It seems to stiffen better and drys faster, and smells good

Starch for me. Some hairspray really bothers my allergies so I don't want my bows smelling strong!
