Default Tutu tulle help!

I recently ordered some tulle online out of desperation, it was a color I couldn't find locally. When I received the tulle and made a tutu out of it it seemed "ok" just very flimsy and a bit low grade. Thankfully the tutu I made with it was for my daughter and not a customer. I figured what better way to advertise than have an adorable 2 year old wear my product lol. Well within 30 minutes of her walking around the navy tulle (the one I purchased online) was snagging and crunching up and looked absolutely horrible! I spent two hours pulling it down and trying to fix it while she walked around. By the time we got home the navy tulle looked like something had been chewing on it for two hours instead of her just walking around. The question I have though, is there anyway to make the tulle stiffer or some way to strengthen the bottom so that it doesn't snag?

Where did you get the tulle from? I've never had this problem before.

it was from gifts international. I ordered 100 yards of navy tulle plus a bunch of other rolls and all but 2 colors are flimsy and shred.

They have satisfaction gauranteed on the side....I'd been telling them how unsatisfied I was!!

I think the difference may be that tulle is for gift wrapping, so maybe it's stiffer...just thinking.

Actually its really flimsy and stretchy and just horrible. The stiffer tulle holds up better. Im just fristrated that i jave all of this tulle that is garbage. I tried spraying it with the starch used for ironing, i dont know anything about the different stiffeners or startches, but it seems like this stuff is just determined to be horrible.

I tried and could never get a human so i emailed them. They emailed back and told me that i would have to return the order UNUSED and in the condition i received it in and then i MIGHT get a refund minus the shipping cost. Um, the tulle is opened, how else would i know that is was junk.

I've never had a problem with them. It sounds like you got a bad roll or two. Let them know... They should send you out a new roll.

As for stiffening, first get the tutu in the shape you want by pulling the tulle out straight. Then you can use aerosol starch or even hairspray. Spray it lightly and let it air dry. If you can hang it in the sun, then do so. If it's not stiff enough then repeat.
