Default A question about measuring and cutting for korker bows

Hi from Oz, this is my first post, although I have been reading up on the art of making bows for a few weeks now.

I've got most of my supplies ready - templates, ribbon, woodburning tool, glue gun... etc. Fortunately, I already had most, although I still haven't managed to find any large salon clips and I'm waiting for alligator clips to arrive from China!

I thought I would have a go at some korker bows first. I have dowelling, clothes pegs, ribbon, starch and an oven ready but I am confused about whether the curled ribbon is stretched out before it is measured and cut to size for the bows or is it measured while curled and then cut?

Any help gratefully received!

Thank You!

I do not stretch mine out to measure. Measure it curled then cut.... I'm sure this is the way most do it. Good luck with your first bows! Korkers are what I started with first also.

Thanks, Lisa.

It's really silly, but I'm terrified of making my first bow! Not sure why as I've been crafting for years and years and have made bows to use with other projects.
I've got no excuses now - off to curl some ribbon and have a play!

Thanks again
