Default Making Bow Using Sallys Clip?

I've seen tutorials for making a bow using a clip from Sallys to hold the middle. A lot of them suggest wrapping the floss through the thing twice and then pulling it tight, except when I do that mine just slides all over in the clip so it doesn't end up centered anymore.

Is there some trick to getting the clip to NOT slide on the ribbon? Or a better way to do this?

EDIT-Kept trying and it didn't seem to slide so much, but apparently I cannot tie a double knot to save my life! I can get it all scrunched up tight, then when I try and tie another knot my first one slips...*sigh*

I had the same problem. The Sally's clips like to slide. I ended up sewing mine and then creasing them with the thread, it makes my bow more secure, and it is easier, IMO.

I only use the Sallys clip for pinwheel bows but I sew the bow and tie it with the thread. It is fast and the result is always nice.

I put an pinch clip at the end of the Sallys clip. It seems to hold it better and does not slide.

When I do mine I double wrap the floss and instead of putting the end through the loop once I do it twice so when I pull it tight it does not untie.

I use the salon clip to hold it together then I stich down the middle. I remove the salon clip and pull on the thread and needle to sinch the middle. I wrap and knot at the back. I do this for every type of bow I make.

The one bow that I tried to sew up the middle when I pulled the thread tight it made the bow seem flat like front to back. is that alright

I only use the clips from Sally's for all of my bows. I also double loop the floss through the clip, pull tight, and tie it in 3 knots.

I use the Sally's clip and I use crochet thread instead of floss. You can get a pretty big spool of it for less than $3 at Joann's and you can use a coupon. I like it cuz it does slide. I double loop it around the bow then pull tight, then tie in 2-3 knots. It holds very well. It also helps to hold the clip steady with one finger while your tying. HTH
