Default Multiple surrounds?

I am fairly new at the bow making game. I would like to know how to make a bow like the ones in the attached example that have three surrounds in the center? It is the closely graduated sizes that I am questioning. I have the BBM templates so I wonder if you could use those and just go up one size for each surround. Another thing I like about this type of bow is there is a surround on the back, layered spikes, and three surrounds yet the bows look very thin and no bulk in the center.

Thanks for your help.

Cindy

I've seen these bows before, and they pretty much consist of ribbon spikes, and loops. No bow. Just make your ribbon spike pinwheel layer, then measure out your ribbon lengths descending slightly in size and make the loops and attach them from big to small.
Then put bottle cap or whatever embellishment in the middle. You have to put something substantial in the middle of the bow, because there is no bow center and the middle of your loops layer would be showing.
I don't see how you would cinch the bow and attach to a clip with a ribbon around, but I guess you would just glue the clip on the back, and take your thread and sew it on to keep it securely attached.

I too am looking for an answer to this questions. Can anyone be more specific in what length the ribbons should be for the stacked surround a bows? Do you decrease each bow length for 1" or more?

I dont really make bows like these to often but I make the first surround and then use that for measuring around with the other 2. I just "pre loop" around the first ones and adjust accordingly till I like the size. HTH

I make this bows quite often and I use lengths of 18in 20in and 22in for the surrounds form them one by one and hot glue or sew them together what ever your choice is. I sew all of my bows just for durability.

Thank you so much for sharing your recipe Roxy. I can't wait to give it a try. And I love your Irish bow. Very pretty.
