Default When First Learning How to Make Bows

Did you practice with the same ribbon over and over? Or buy different ribbon and make different bows?

I've been buying mine by the spool, but honestly one little girl only needs so many bows in a certain pattern LOL

When I started, like when I first, first started - I would buy random ribbons in all sizes to try different bow making techniques. Later, I realized that working with the 1.5" grosgrain was where it's at, and went from there. A good way to get started with different colors, is to go to the and buy a convenience pack which has all different colors for you to work with. Make sure you buy the 3/8" as well as the 1 1/2" so you can make the bows (using the 1 1/2") and bow centers (using 3/8"), and line the clips. Just my humble opinion :-)

I would practice with the comfortable ribbon, whatever that one was for the particular bow I was trying to learn. And then start doing them in different sizes/widths.

One of the gals on here has a wicked sale going so I was able to get a lot of ribbon at a great price for more variety. I've got a craft show coming up so that was my motivation but with shorter lengths there you can make some for your kiddo and sell the others so it's not 5 yards of the same bows =)

Let me see if I can find that thread and I'll edit my post to link it here!

*eta* couldn't find the thread but here's her etsy. very fast ship and well packed, couldn't be happier with my purchases
