Default Organza Flower

Does anyone know where I could find a tutorial for this style of flower?

$75 is a bit much, but that's great for them if they can sell it for that!

I think with organza flowers like that you would use organza by the yard, cut layers to the shapes of the petals, layer, sew, and add the rhinestones, pearls etc. to the top of it. I'm sure there's more to it than that, but I think that's the general idea of it.

I think she individually cut each petal, although each petal is not exactly the same as you can tell that some have a scalloped edge and some don't. I would definitely pre-treat the fabric with a stiffener. You can see near the top left side that she has some fray which is not good for a flower like this.

Also, the texture would likely be from heat. This might sound weird, but I think that if you pre-treat the fabric with a lot of stiffener and use a small barreled curling iron to make lines you might get something similar.

I actually have a flower that is very similar to the one in the photo. It is made of chiffon and has stems for centers, but I remove them and have been adding some of my rhinestone buttons as centers. I sell them for $1.00 each. I have several colors of them and a lot of them in stock right now. I'm attaching a photo of the white flower I sell so you can see what it looks like.

After looking more carefully, there is quite a bit of fray! I would not think that a flower that will not hold up should be worth that price. So much time put in to it to just fall apart as the fray will only get worse. To achieve a similar look, I think you might enjoy some home millinery flower patterns. I do have an "Enchanted Millinery Fabric Flower Pattern" and I know that there are others out there as well.

Sorry Sarah! Yours posted as I was typing. Your flower is really pretty and the fray works for it!! I was referring to the first link.

No problem. I was reading and figured you meant the first one. I do agree that for $75, the flower would need to be finished more. Crazy! I am guessing they figure with the rhinestone centers, the price is worth it.
