Default Layered Ribbon

Hi!

How does someone layer ribbon in a bow, like the red swiss dot ribbon is on top of the blue ribbon in this bow:

I've thought about glueing it on, didn't know if that was the way to go or if I should try just keeping the two together without adhering them to one another.

Hope this makes sense!

I would not recommend gluing as in my experience it tends to make the ribbon stiff and hard to fold/shape. I have made something similar and I just lay the more narrow ribbon over the wider and it usually stays with no problem. I'll spot glue it if need be but I do not run a strip of glue the length of the ribbon. Sorry if that is confusing.

Try the fabric glue, found in the sewing area.

I just use a thin layer of fabritac and just make sure to fold the bow before it dries. If it dries, it becomes stiff, and impossible to work with.

Hi, i use a fuisble webbing/fusible tape...i pre-cut the ribbon, pre-cut the tape and then lightly iron the two together. This keeps them together, AND it is clear so you don't see it!
Hope this helps!

I use a thin line of fabric-tac. But after applying hte fabri-tac to the bottom ribbon, before placing the top one on it, I run my finger along hte glue to thin it out some so it doesn't glob through the top ribbon. I let it dry for a minute or two and hten fold it beofre it gets too stiff. HTH!!!!
