Default petal tutu help

I just found a couple bags of rose petals that weren't used for my wedding several years ago...and thought i would put them to use in some hair clips then I came across tutus that had petals attached to them that are beautiful. here is one of them http://www.etsy.com/listing/89881700...earch_type=all

how would you attach the petals to the tutu layers? Thanks for any help

any other suggestions as to what I could use the petals on?

I love that idea, not sure how to attach them though. It seems that glue would show through and look messy, unless you attached a petal to both sides.??

i was thinking the same thing

maybe some thread that matches the color of the tulle but then i don't want it to show through on the petal

It looks like they are just glued on, if you look at at the last picture and make it bigger you can see some of the glue at the bottom on the petal when it shows through x

Good idea to reuse them. I'm pretty sure I have petals too... Not sure a I'd make tutu with them, but it is definitely a super-cute discovery!

I agree with glue, if you are really, really careful, it would probably be fine. Good thing is, it would be easy to try a few different techniques on a small piece or two of tulle.

I'm pretty sure I've seen sewn tutus with things like petals in folded tulle, you might want to check them out.

Thanks ladies. I think I found a tutorial showing how they sew the petals onto the tulle to make the petals sit on the tips of the tulle pieces like in the pictures.

Glad you found a tut on sewing them on. I am ALL for no sew things, but I would definitely think that stitching them on would be the way to go. I would think a few button stitches would do the trick and be pretty simple. I would likely use a top thread to match the color of the petal and the bottom thread to match the color of the tulle.
