Default How hard can it be?

I had one of my customers who normally gets basic bows made out of 2 Ό” ribbon ask me to make her DD some out of 3” and 4” ribbon and of course I say “sure“…… without hesitation. Now that the ribbon is on order I am getting kinda nervous! So any of you ladies that have every worked with ribbon this wide, I would love any tips you may have!

Wow, that is mighty wide for bows! I haven't worked with it but since the techniques are the same, I would just trust your "how hard can it be" instincts. You'll have to post pics when you're done!!

OMG! HUGE! How wide does she want the final bow to be? Wider than the 2.5" ribbon bows? Wow.

That is super wide! I have seen really wide ribbon used in the Monster cheer bows, in the tails down bow style. Also the brand wee ones makes a "king bow" and they use wider width ribbon than the 2 1/4".
Although I've not used that wide of width, I think you'll do fabulous as long as you allot the extra length to form your loops (boutique bow, right?), it'll be great - make sure to post pics!

Thanks so much for the encouragement! I do use a template for my boutique bows (wish I could free hand), so I plan on trying to make a larger template & go from there. I will most defiantly post a picture when I get one done. This is the link she sent me http://rainbows-by-paulette.com/ and it is the mega overlay bows that she is wanting, they are about 7.5" across. Now I am just sitting here wondering should I starch them?

Looks like she does 4 creases at least, the more creases you can do the better it'll come out, IMO Good luck!

Good Luck! It does look a bit intimidating. I am sure they will turn out great, can't wait to see completed pics.

I've used up to 3 inch ribbon but I make those with a 8 to 10" template. Same as making any bow just bigger.
