It looks simple enough. Are looks deceptive?

I haven't tried making them yet. The only thing I think might be difficult about this is making the wire look smooth. That's why I wanted to know if anyone else had tried it.

I've never made them but my sister wore this type in her hair for prom one year. Very pretty and simple!

I've seen them worn before. They look really pretty. They look pretty easy to make.

Those do look pretty easy. 1 more thing to add to my list. I'm sure my husband will be thrilled.

They are vey pretty. It looks like a jewel just floating in the hair when you put it on right. I wore some for my junior prom. I never thought about making them. I'm going to give it a try.

You can easily do this with out a jig. If you have a good pair of pliers that were flat on the inside. Like the article said you could probably finish the spiral by hand once you started it with some needle nosed pliers.

You can make them easily.

You can use the pliers to twirl them around or you can make your own tool to twirl them on just by getting a small wooden plaque (Michael's or Hobby Lobby carries them in their woodworking section) and a few nails (with the heads cut off with wire cutters). I use a "tool" like that to make my metal hangers for my stained glass projects. I'm including a picture below. For the twirls I would just take a couple of small nails and nail them down in the middle of the wooden board on each side of the wire. You want them to be right next to the wire on each side, that way when you place the wire inside them it will hold it in place so you can then twirl the wire around them. With the heads cut off of the nails it is easy to slip the twirl off when you are finished, if you forget to cut the heads off you will have problems with this since the nails have to be right next to the wire.

I wish I could have found my form that I use for these hangers, but we're moving so it may already be packed up.

Anyways, as you can see, they are still pretty smooth after doing this.

I hope that helps!
