Smile What is the easiest...?

Hi everyone! This is actually my first post! I am new here and I have just found the interest to make ribbon clippies. Is there any easy ones that you would suggest to start out with and if so could anyone post a tutorial. Thank you! I really like this forum already. I have browsed a few topics and I love how you ladies are so nice and helpful to one another. I think I may stick around! Oh and my name is Heather by the way.

Heather..I found pinwheels a good place to start. Just do a search..you'll find everything you need for those pretty quickly. Have fun!

Thank you! I actually just made a dragon fly, and for my first it turned pretty cute but not quite perfect. I will try your suggestion next!

Does anyone else have any suggestions?

If you like sculptured clips....try a ladybug or a bumblebee. I really like streamer pony-o's as well.

Best place to start is to learn how to properly line a clip. There are several free tutorials around that show this. Then you can embellish the clips with tiny bows, jewels, strips of bling that you may already have at home.

Keep your ends crisp and no glue strings hanging.

As someone mentioned, tuxedo bows are simple and cute!

The sculptures are more advanced, but there are several free tutes around to get you started. Once you get into more advanced styles, there are lots of tutes available from some gifted artists. Search around this site and You Tube.

Have fun!

You can also buy artificial flowers at a craft store (or even a dollar store) and attach them to clips. Just carefully remove all the plastic parts from the flower and either glue or sew the layers back together, maybe replacing the center doodad with a pretty button or other embellishment. Glue a small felt circle onto the back of the flower and glue a clip (preferably lined) to the center of the felt.

Following up on masha1999's suggestion, you can also glue tiny flowers to the tops of lined clips for a cute summer accessory.

I agree that tuxedo bows are easy but if you are looking for ribbon sculptures, I'd do a ladybug or bumble bee - there are free tutes for those.

Welcome to the forums! The dragonfly and butterflies are great beginner ribbon sculptures as are the bumblebee and ladybug.

I agree with the above posts, if you are wanting to get into doing ribbon sculptures the ladybug/bumble bee is one of the easiest. I think that is what I learned to do first. Also the 6 loop flowers that look like daisies are very easy and super cute. They are a great seller for me.
