It depends on how big your bow is. I like to use alligator clips as often as i can, but some bows are too big and you have to use a french clip.

I usually use alligator clips for bow 2-2.5 inches or smaller but any bigger I use french clips. My little girl has very fine hair so I usually line the alligator clip to make it stay better.

I'm the same as the other ladies...alligator clips for the smaller bows and french clips for bigger ones.
