I am trying to make a mini boutique bow out of 3/8 ribbon. It's about 2 inches, a little bigger than the aligator clip. I managed to get 1 made that I liked the fold/crease. But now I can't duplicate it. I have spent over an hour trying to get it to crease right and i just cant get it. I cannot waste this much time on 1 bitty bow.
So how do you do them? Do I need to go and buy a sally's clip? will it even hold that little of ribbon? I know about the gator bite, but not sure if I want to go and spend $20 on that.

I use a needle and thread to weave through the middle and when I pull it tight my crease is usually the same it took me a while to figure that out too I was using wire and couldn't get my crease right either but the needle and thread helped hth!!

I use my gator bite for everything. It gets tricky sometimes on bows that small, but it still does the job and I found that I dont' have to have it lined up exactly to make the crease in the middle so that makes it go much faster.

I usually use needle and thread for my creases, but I have found another way for the tiny bows. I just use a two prong alligator clip and use it just like I would the Sally clip. The middle goes in between the two prongs and you tie it up with elastic thread. It works and is the perfect size.
