Default Little plastic "spacers" in flowers... yea or nay?

A friend helped me set rhinestones in some flowers. We decided to remove ALL the plastic bits, including the ones inside that don't show (but that keep the flower looking perky). The flowers all look a little flat to me now, but I'm no expert... maybe that's how finished flowers are supposed to look?

So, do you keep that hidden plastic "push up" piece in your flowers? Or remove it along with everything else?

Just depends for me. If it's a full flower I remove the top few but leave the ones closer to the bottom of the flower. Sometimes i take them all out... I have no method lol. Whatever looks good for the particular flower

I usually remove all plastic but I often will replace them with some small felt circles in between layers. It makes the flower look fuller and fluffier but you cannot see them if you pick the same color felt as the flower. It really makes a difference!

I'm glad you asked that question! I have removed the spacers from the flowers I got but then felt like they looked too flat. But when I leave the spacers in, I can't seem to "hide" the spacers or am afraid the petals will eventually come out and fall apart...

I remove mine. Depending on the flower I can sometimes use a smaller petal to layer between the larger ones to make it fuller. This works well on daisies.

I'm coming in late to this thread, but that is a brilliant idea!
