ditto . . . so i did a few pics using 5/8" ribbon & measurement above. pls excuse black thread = for pic purposes only . . . and 2nd pic shows stitches both above and below center so bow doesn't twist apart/more secure. glue would also probably work.

wrong choice of beads as star points flattened the loop & makes it look uneven!

edit . . . hmmm - may try stringing some beads on 1/4" ribbon . . .

y/welcome . . . used the sewing machine last nite and sewed the ribbon together . . . much sturdier/neater! will try to post pics in the next day or 2.

the b/fly looks similar to the ribbon flower petals . . . but it looks like a woodburner is needed & i don't have one.

edit - here's the link from another active thread . . . and i'd do the 1/2 curve on both ends of the ribbon in lieu of individual pieces . . . gather up the middle - add beads & antenna = done!

I make these, you'll need some dowel rods, knitting needles, writing pens, pencils, anything that is the shape of a rod, like the ones for korkers, what ever size you need the loops to be, usually the smaller width ribbons are used, and you can stack the different sizes on one bow for a different look measure the ribbon to ensure the loops will fit the rods, leaving a little extra so it'll be easier to cinch, just sew the bows as you would normally, sew the beads while sewing the centers, then stack if you want a stacked bow, the top bow needs to be a little smaller then then the bottom, sew together along with a spike at the bottom and sew on 2 small rubber bands to the back, you can buy them off eBay (or there are a lot of suppliers you can find just looking up orthodontic bands), everything, the bands, all sewn, no glue. when finished, slide the rods in the loops and spray very good, they need to be stiff, with your favorite stiffener (I use hair spray) and let dry, or use a blow dryer, this is what gives them the round puffy look, for my doggy, she has short hair, so I glue a plastic barrette and clip them to her sweaters that she wears......no charge for these instructions, hope this helps

Worth what she charges IMO.. you can also google Dog Show Bows

If you need latex bands let me know I buy zillions of them I can send you a mix of colors in many sizes lol
Thank you SO much! I have a question about the bands. The groomer I am working with said clips are better because bands get fur wrapped up in them and can only be used 1 maybe 2 times. What's your opinion on this?

Latex bands can break small amount of hair...I used to own a dog grooming salon before I started in dog bow..and then growing into children bows.

For a top knot look...you will have to put a ponytail in and then the bow...I use barrettes a lot on my dog vixie..but I always put her top knot in latex bands first and then switch out the barrettes often...I redo the topknot weekly.

For show bows I use bands you sew two to the back so when the first one breaks you can use the second one... Once your pet is trained to wear a topknot..bows last a long time.

A pet owner will usually choose barrettes over bands..because they are easier..I just don't like the look of a bow flat on a dogs head...because I love top knots
I use mini alligator clips with teeth when I use barrettes. But on the other hand because dogs chew and swallow things many people don't like barrettes because of the danger if they chew the bow.. HTH
