Default bows for dresses

I have started making pinwheel bows for my dresses and need to know how to tie them. I have been doing a knot for center and then sewing it on the back side. I have seen some that seem to be tied with a 3/8 inch ribbon and wonder if that is the way they make them. It takes a long time to sew them like I am now. I am so used to hot glue for hairbows and can't pin through the hot glue. I pin the bows to the shoulders of the dress. I had been tying the ribbon but don't like the way they look. Most of the dresses I have listed have the tied ribbon. It is the quickest way but I don't like how they look.

I will appreciate any suggestions or to know how other people tie them.

Tnanks

couldn't you just attach it to a ribbon lined pin/brooch (whatever you want to call it) just like you would for the bows???

maybe I'm not understanding what you are trying to do, could you post a pic?

If you post a picture would be easier to understand...

It is hard to visualize exactly what you mean, but I would think attaching the bow to a pin back or something and then pinning it on would work. Then they could remove it to wash the dress also.

I am trying to get away from sewing the ribbon on the back. I had thought of wrapping the ribbon around the pin and then hot gluing but haven't tried it yet. I saw one on etsy that looked like it was tied with a smaller ribbon and the ends of the ribbon left showing. I will try to find one and copy that picture. I realized when I cropped this picture that I did not pull the loops on one of the bows.
