Default Attaching Center Knot to Alligator Clip Question

I made some boutique bows using 1.5" ribbon and I want the center knot to be made out of 7/8" ribbon. All the tutorials say to use 3/8" ribbon then wrap the center wrap around the lined alligator clip.

My question is what to do when I am using 7/8" ribbon for the center knot? Do I attempt to wrap it around the clip or should I just glue the bow onto the clip without wrapping.

Thanks in advance for giving me some feedback on this question.

i'm no expert - so pls take this with a grain of salt!

this video from nbng uses 7/8 . . . i'd just be careful that the ribbon lays flat when you glue it so you don't get double the thickness - that's what i'd be concerned about.

this video is great - takes you from the beginning to the end/gluing it on a french clip.

I never wrap the ribbon around the alligator clip and have not had any problems with the bow coming off. I just use hot glue and it holds. I do line the clip,

We finish the bows with either a plain center strip of 3/8 or a center not. Then we glue the clip to the back(nothing wrapped around the clip) we only wrap the center strip if we use french clips.
