Default Question About Twisted Boutique Loops

So, I've been trying to figure out a way to explain this, and I'm having trouble. Most of the time, when I make a twisted boutique bow, the opening of the loops looks pretty straight, rather then bending inward, and the corners of the loops are round. I see other bows where the inside of peice of ribbon seems to fold more inward, so it comes closer to the outside piece of ribbon and it's not straight along the entire loop, and the corners are pointier. Does anyone know what causes this difference and how to get more of the second look? I'm sorry if I really suck at explaining it but I was hoping if anyone understood what I was trying to say someone on here would.

Uh, duh lol.

Here's one of my bows, I just made it yesterday.

http://img1.etsystatic.com/il_fullxfull.314004689.jpg it kind of did it on one loop, not really though.

Here's one that has more of the look I'm trying to get:

See how the inside of the loops push more towards the back?

I don't know if my observations have anything to do with the different looks, but I do notice 2 things. First yours is upside down from the one you prefer. Meaning the horizontal part of the lower ribbon (behind the loops) is in front of the horizontal part of the upper ribbon on your bow so it will look a bit different because of that anyway. You see how the opening of lower loops on yours look a bit closer together than the upper ones?

Second thing is, the bow you want yours to look like has many more folds in the center than yours. It looks like you just folded yours twice like this ^^ if you were to look at it from the side. The other one looks like it might have 5 "mountains" - ^^^^^, maybe they used a gatorbite or sewed through with a lot of small stitches. I think yours is very cute though!

yes the previous poster is right it is all about how you crease your bow.
you have to start creasing from the back of the bow you take the first stich down (inwards to the bow) and then out so your first wave is to the bottom of the bow and the edge of the bow gets lifted then stich to make to waves ito the inside of the bow and the last one as you did the first one so the wave raises to the bottom of the bow.
It is very hard to explain this in word but take a close look to the crease in the bow you want to achieve.

you've got a sharp eye and was always wondering the answer you gave in your 1st paragraph. i'm almost out of the tbb challenged group!

the 2nd paragraph . . . so you're saying the end/edge of the ribbon (when you're looking at it from the front of the bow) should be folded down . . . to achieve this look?

in other words it should be a M and not a W???

so you're saying it should be a W (looking at it from the front of the bow)????

now i'm totally confused again - lol!

edit . . . forgot to say . . . the 2 of you are great at explaining!!!!!

edit edit . . . and i've got to add . . . . this is where the paid instructions fall flat - in my opinion!

Actually, I don't sew to fold the bow so I don't understand what pat font said. Haha. But mine are always an M if you look from the side with the bow facing towards the ceiling. (Oh and pat font, I will try and get instructions done for that pointy bow by the end of this week. I have a sick husband now and you know how whiny men can get. LOL)

Looking at one of mine, I do have that closer together look that the OP wants and it's on a bow with just one crease across the center - ^^. So hmmmm. When I do just the two "mountains", the folds are even. So the up and down lengths are exactly or nearly exactly the same. I wonder if on the OP's bow, the center valley is shorter than the edges and maybe that has something to do with it.

I agree on the crease part. Do a 3 fold crease and pinch it tighter.
